Let’s dive into details.
1. Open the target Notion page
Access the Notion page containing text that you want to find and replace. You can even create a new page and write content from scratch.
We will use the below Notion blog for demonstration purposes.
2. Use the keyboard shortcut to find text
Use the Notion keyboard shortcut CMD + F on Mac or CTRL + F on Windows to access the ‘Find & Replace’ text box at the top-right of your screen.
3. Find the text that you want to replace
Click the text box and type the word or phrase you want to replace. If that text is available on the page, it would be highlighted in yellow.
In our example, we will replace all instances of the word ‘fast’ with ‘quick’.
Upon typing the word ‘fast’, Notion highlights all instances of it.
4. Click the ‘Replace’ icon
The ‘Replace’ icon looks like a ‘recycle’ icon, and it's available next to the ‘Find’ text box.
This unlocks another text box where you can add the substitute text.
5. Replace Notion text
Type the substitute text in the second text box and click the ‘Replace’ button.
You have successfully found and replaced text in a Notion page.
6. Verify successful replacement
To ensure that text has been successfully replaced, use the ‘Find’ shortcut and type the substitute text.
It must appear in all spots previously occupied by the replaced text.
In our example, we replaced the word ‘fast’ with ‘quick’. Looking for ‘quick’ inside the page returns three results, indicating that all instances of ‘fast’ have been successfully replaced.
