Adding a clock widget to Notion makes it convenient to check the time so that you meet deadlines and attend meetings without a hitch. It also makes your pages look aesthetically pleasing by elevating the design.
And since you have a clock right on your screen, you need not check the time on your mobile phone, preventing distractions and enhancing productivity.
Here’s how to add a clock to Notion:
1. Customize design of the selected clock widget and copy its embed URL
2. Create and ‘Embed’ block in Notion and paste the link in it
3. Your clock widget is now available in Notion. Customize widget size, if required
1. Select a clock widget and customize design
The clock widget’s purpose is to show time but it should also blend in with your Notion page design. Even if you choose a basic clock, it should not stick out like a sore thumb and distract.
Depending on the purpose and the page audience, select a clock widget that hides in plain sight and displays time without squinting eyes.
We will use Notionavenue’s clock widget for demonstration. It’s easy to customize and automatically updates the embed URL based on your design choices.
Alright, let’s customize widget text and background color.
2. Customize design of the clock widget
In our example, we will stick with a simplistic design that fits right into the page deisgn.
If you plan to use the same widget, click the settings button to access these customization options:
- Background color - Blue
- Font color - Default black
2. Copy the embed URL
The embed code details what the clock widget looks like in Notion. It contains information about the text and background color of the clock, title, timezone, widget responsiveness, etc. Different widgets generate different embed codes based on the customization features they offer.
Your third-party widget page should ideally display the preview, as demonstrated in the screenshot in the previous section.
Continuing with our example, Click the ‘Copy to Clipboard’ button to copy the embed URL.
Keep the URL handy - we will need it in the subsequent steps.
