Table of contents
Notion is an effective content repository as it helps store, organize, and retrieve content easily. You can simply create a Notion folder for each theme and keep related subpages in it.
However, you might not want to show all the subpages as things can get cluttered quickly. For example, it’s better to hide individual employee information pages in a Notion folder as it may push other company information far down the page.
Here’s how to do that:
1. Open the Notion page containing the subpages you want to hide
We will use the below page for reference. It has three pages that must show and seven that we will hide.
2. Create a Toggle block
Toggle blocks expand and then collapse on command, revealing and hiding the content they contain in the process. We will move the pages that we want to hide into a toggle block and collapse it to hide them.
The pages in the toggle block do not appear in the sidebar either.
Create a toggle block by typing /toggle in the Notion page and clicking the Toggle block option. Alternatively, use the shortcut key ‘>’ and then hit the spacebar.
Rename the toggle block to represent the content it contains.
3. Drag pages into the toggle block
Select all the clutter pages by clicking and dragging your mouse pointer to form a rectangle containing all pages.
Next, click the six-dots icon indicated in the below image and drag all pages into the toggle block.
All your pages now fall under the toggle block.
4. Collapse the toggle block
Click the tiny arrow that points downward, next to the toggle block to collapse the list of pages.
That’s it! All your pages are now hidden.
How to hide a page in Notion website?
Notion subpages disappear when moved into a toggle block. It’s a good way to hide pages accessed by an internal audience, but toggle blocks do not look good on a live webpage.
Here’s how Super Notion website builders can hide pages on their website - click the Design tab in your Notion dashboard and then the layout option. Finally, click the Hide button under the Notion page links section.
