In this guide, we will move the below database…
Into this page…
Let’s explore the steps in detail:
1. Open the Notion database
Or create a new database. We will reference the following database in this guide.
2. Access the options list for the database and click on ‘Move to’
Click on the six-dots icon that appears when you hover over it to access options relevant to the database.
4. Move the Notion database to another page
Notion will display a new screen with a search bar followed by the list of the most recently accessed pages. Select from the list if the target page is visible or use Notion search to look for it.
In our example, the target page is visible right away so we click on it.
This moves the database to the bottom of the target page.
How to move items between Notion databases?
Simply select the database items that you want to move to another database and click on the three-dot icon at the top of the database. This will open an options menu, click on ‘Move to’ to access a window with the most recently accessed pages under a search bar. Look for the target database and click on it to move items over.
Let’s demonstrate the process of moving items from the ‘Class notes’ database…
To the ‘Building good habits’ database.
1. Select the items you want to move over, access the options menu, and select ‘Move to’
We selected the ‘Soccer’ and ‘French’ items to move over to the ‘Building good habits’ database.
Next, we clicked on the three-dots icon to access the item options and clicked on ‘Move to’.
2. Select the target database
Notion displays a new screen where you can search for the target database. Click on it once you find it.
3. Access the items in the new database
Notion moved the items to the new database filling out the properties available from the previous database. The ‘Class schedule’ database only had the ‘Date’ property type in common with the ‘Building good habits’ database, so only the relevant date property gets populated.
