Content creators want to experiment with different page layouts. Some stick with the default center-aligned layout offering a focussed view, while others prefer spreading out content horizontally to use the real estate better.
This guide demonstrates how to override and restore the default center alignment. We will also show how to open databases in full width and discuss reasons why the capability may not work.

How to open a Notion table in full width?

2. Click the Open as full page icon
And that’s it, your database opens in full-view mode.
How to open a Notion page in full width by default?
Notion does not support creating full-width pages by default, but there is a workaround - create a Notion button containing a page in full-width. Every time you click on the button, Notion will create a new page in full width that you can customize and move around.
Here’s how to do that:
1. Create a Notion template button
Create a new Notion page and type “/button” in it. Notion will display the Button block, as demonstrated in the below image. Click on it to set up an empty template button.
2. Create a page within the template
Name the button block and click the Add icon button.
1. Select the Insert blocks option
2. Add a new page to the template
3. Open the page and set it in full width
Open the page you created inside the template button and enable the toggle for Full width as demonstrated in the below image.
4. Click the template button
Go back to the page containing the template button and click the button.
Notion will immediately create a new page which is a duplicate of the page you created in the previous step.
5. Click the new page opening in full width by default
You can customize this page and even move to another Notion folder.
Reasons why you are unable to open Notion pages in full width
1. You do not have access to edit the page
You need Full or Edit access to be able to change the layout of the page. Ask the page owner to grant you access. Alternatively, if the owner has allowed duplication of the page, you can create a duplicate and edit it within your workspace.
2. Screen Resolution
If your screen resolution is set too low, there may not be enough horizontal space to display Notion in full-width mode properly. Consider opening the browser window in full screen to properly gauge the page width.
3. Notion Bugs
Occasionally, bugs or glitches in the Notion application could prevent full width view from working as expected on certain pages or workspaces. If you are unable to open the page in full width because of an error that Notion displays on your screen, consider waiting for a while before trying again.
4. Cluttered Page Layout
Occasionally, if the Notion page has too many columns, the page may not render properly in full-width mode.
