Notion’s new simple tables are a great way to show your data in a tabular form. They are a great complement to Notion databases especially when you just have a few rows or columns of data, and no need for properties or database pages.
Here’s an overview of when you’d use a simple table instead of a database:
Usage | Simple Table | Databases |
lots of data | ❌ | ✅ |
subpages | ❌ | ✅ |
different views | ❌ | ✅ |
gallery view | ❌ | ✅ |
relations | ❌ | ✅ |
custom properties | ❌ | ✅ |
comparison tables | ✅ | ❌ |
not much data | ✅ | ❌ |
Super supports simple tables and if you’ve been using databases to display simple tables of information, you can convert the databases to simple tables really easily.
How to convert a database into a simple table
- Click on the six dots icon next to your database to open the menu
- Select Turn into simple table
- And that’s it! 🎉
If you decide you want to use the database layout again, you can do the same thing but select Turn into database instead.
