Notion doesn’t support password protection, which means you can’t lock pages or share content without juggling permissions, invites, or workspace access. Super solves this by allowing you to add a password to any Notion page in seconds.
Sharing Notion pages often comes with trade-offs.
You either set them to public, allowing anyone with the link to view or edit them - reducing control and risking unintentional access. Or you keep them private and end up managing emails, permissions, or workspace invites.
Neither option works well in most business or team management scenarios.
But what if you could simply lock your Notion page and share access only with the people who need it?
What if you could password protect your Notion content - giving you full control without the headaches of managing permissions?
Notion doesn’t support that.
Super does.
1. Signup for Super
Head over to Super and sign up using your email, Apple ID, or Google account. The signup process is quick and painless - you’ll be inside the dashboard in under a minute.
Once you’re in, you’re ready to link the Notion page you want to secure.
2. Connect your Notion page
After signing up, you’ll be taken to the Super App dashboard. Click on the ‘Create Site’ button in the top-right corner.
You’ll see a pop-up asking for two things:
- Your desired domain name
- The public Notion page URL you want to use
Hit ‘Create Site’, and you’re done - your Notion page is now live and connected to Super, ready to be password protected.
3. Access your page in the dashboard
Once your site is created, it will appear in your Super dashboard - along with any subpages linked to that Notion page.
To locate it, click on the ‘Pages’ tab in the left-hand menu and use the search bar to type in the title. This gives you quick access to the exact page you want to protect.
4. Password protect your Notion page
Next to your page name, click the three-dots icon and select ‘Set password’ from the menu.
In the ‘Page Password’ view, enter your desired password in the text box and hit ‘Save Changes’.
That’s it - the page is now protected. Only visitors with the password can access the content.
5. Share and test the protected page
Open the live page URL in a new tab. You’ll be prompted to enter the password before the content loads.
Share this link with your intended audience and test it yourself to confirm everything works as expected. You now have a secure, gated Notion page without needing logins, invites, or workspace access.
Super’s password protection feature is available on its paid plans, starting at $12 per month per site when billed annually.
But you get much more at that price tag.
Super isn’t just a way to gate Notion pages. It’s a powerful website builder made specifically for Notion users. It supports custom domains and provides design control, faster load speeds, SEO tools, page-level settings, and everything you need to turn a simple Notion page into a fully branded, professional website.
So whether you’re securing a page for clients or building a complete online presence on top of Notion, Super gives you the tools to do it cleanly, quickly, and without code.
Benefits of password protecting Notion pages
Complete access control
Locking Notion pages helps prevent unwanted edits, but it doesn’t stop people from viewing your content or copying it elsewhere. This means anyone with access could still duplicate your hard work with a simple copy-paste.
By password protecting your Notion pages with Super, you keep unwanted visitors from viewing your content altogether. So, the next time you create a sleek Notion template meant to be selectively public, you’ll have complete peace of mind.
Professionalism
Adding a password sends a subtle message: “only for your eyes.” Your selected viewers know the content is meant just for them and can’t be altered by anyone else. It adds a layer of trust and professionalism that strengthens your brand and client relationships.
So, the next time you share that polished metrics dashboard with a client, secure it with a password and see how it builds trust.
Support for lead funnels
Inbound marketing often starts by giving away free content to impress potential customers, earn their trust, and guide them toward your paid offerings. But how do you ensure qualified visitors can’t bypass payment and access premium content for free?
By password protecting it.
For example, after someone purchases your membership or template via Gumroad, you can share a unique password that unlocks the gated Notion content.
FAQs
Can you lock Notion pages?
Yes, you can lock your Notion page by clicking the page setting icon - the three-dots icon at the top-right of your page and turning the toggle on for ‘Lock page’.
However, the lock Notion page feature does not support additional safety for your content with password protection. You need to signup with Super to do that.
What does locking a page on Notion do?
Locking a Notion page prevents any unwanted edits by allowing page visitors to only view the page. It acts as a quick way to turn a page in a more public folder to be limited to viewing.
Can you password protect your Notion site?
The Notion Sites module does not allow setting password for your pages. This prevents you from providing access to specific accounts that, for example, purchase your template or paid to access the otherwise hidden content.
By signing up with Super, you can build a website with your content in Notion and password protect pages easily.
