The fastest and easiest way to customize your Notion URL for free is by connecting your Notion page with Super, accessing the page settings, and updating the page path.
Let’s discuss these steps in detail. Notion makes it super-easy to create and share content with peers but falls short in customization capabilities, even with its Notion Sites module.
Hidden among major drawbacks like limited design, effective branding, ineffective SEO, finer aspects that make a webpage more accessible are missing with Notion publishing.
One of them is the ability to customize the URL of the Notion page.
While the free version allows using a quasi-custom domain with the notion.site extension, it does not support pretty URLs, you need a paid plan to do that.
You can access that view in your free Notion plan by clicking the ‘Share’ button at the top-right of your screen and clicking on ‘Publish’, next. On hovering over the existing URL, Notion prompts you to upgrade to be able to change the URL.
So what do you do?
Here’s how to add a custom Notion URL to your page:
1. Create a free account with Super
Signup with Super by filling out a simple form or with your Apple or Google account. The complete process is quite straight-forwards and takes about a minute to complete.
Done? Great! Let’s set up the Notion page next.
2. Connect your Notion page with Super
After signing up, you will be redirected to the Super App. Click on the ‘Create Site’ button at the top-right of the App.
This will prompt Super to display a lightbox where you can enter your domain name and public Notion URL. Once done, click on the ‘Create Site’ button within the light box to finish the process of connecting Notion and Super.
3. Access your page from the dashboard
Your page must now be available in Super along with all its subpages.
To find your page, click on the ‘Pages’ tab within the Super dashboard and start typing the title of your page inside the search bar.
After finding your content, click the three-dots icon next to your page’s name and then click the ‘Edit page’ option.
This step takes you to the page settings screen where you can edit the page path.
4. Add custom URL to your Notion page
To add a custom URL, click inside the ‘Page Path’ text box and edit the current text.
5. Access your branded Notion page with pretty URL
Copy the Super URL of the page and open it in your browser - your page is now available with a custom URL.
