Notion cover image sizes for different devices
The cover image size for desktop screens is 1500px by 600px, for mobile screens, it’s 1170px by 445px, and for tablet screens, it’s 1170px by 290px.
These are the minimum size requirements. You can choose cover images larger than these dimensions and reposition them later, but avoid using images smaller than the suggested pixel sizes. Notion stretches smaller images to fill the placeholder space, degrading the image quality.
If you do not have images of the suggested sizes, consider choosing or creating images in the 3:1 aspect ratio and ensure that they meet the Notion cover’s height requirements - 600px for desktop, 445px for mobile screens, and 290px for tablet screens.
Finally, try to design cover images for Notion at 72 DPI resolution. A higher DPI isn't necessary unless you're creating images for print.

Scroll through Notion’s built-in image gallery and pick a visual that aligns the best with your page’s design and content.
2. Upload an image from your local drive
Click on the ‘Upload’ option and then on the ‘Upload file’ button. This will open a new screen that allows you to select an image from the local drive to be added as the cover image of your Notion page.
Make sure the image is at least 1500 pixels wide to fit it into the space for the cover without having to stretch it.
3. Embed the link to an image from the web
If you want to insert an image from a link, click on the ‘Link’ option, paste the publicly available link into the textbox, and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
4. Insert an image from Unsplash
Unsplash has a vast collection of images for any purpose you can think of. Type in the right search term and Notion will display images from Unsplash that you can embed as a cover image.
4. Reposition the cover image to display the best snippet
We have inserted an image from Unsplash but the main part of the image is missing.
Let’s bring that to the forefront by repositioning the image. To do that, click on the ‘Reposition’ option that appears when you hover over the current cover image.
Click and hold on the image and drag it around to see it move. Release the mouse click once you are happy with the new position and click on the ‘Save position’ option to lock it in place.
