To share a Notion page as a template:
- Open the template and click the three-dot icon at the top-right of your screen.
- Click on the ‘Publish’ tab and then click on the ‘Publish’ button.
- Click on ‘Site customization’ next to access the Notion sites interface.
- Click on ‘Header’ to access the navbar settings and turn on the ‘Duplicate as a template' toggle.
- Copy the template URL and share it with others.

We’ll first cover the process of sharing public Notion templates and then walk you through sharing them with individuals.
Start by clicking the ‘Share’ button at the top-right of the screen and click on the ‘Publish’ tab.
Finally, click the ‘Publish’ button to make the Notion template public.
3. Customize the template’s share settings
To customize the template's accessibility settings, click on the ‘Site customization’ option.
This will open the site interface that allows you to customize your Notion site.
4. Access the template’s header section
The duplicate option, when enabled, appears in the Notion site’s navigation bar. To ensure that it’s enabled, click the ‘Header’ option.
5. Share the Notion template
The ‘Duplicate as a template’ toggle should be turned on by default. If it's not, turn it on and publish changes.
Finally, copy the template URL and share it with others.
How to share a Notion template with friends?
To share the Notion template with others without making it publicly available:
1. Open the Notion template
2. Access the share settings
Click on the ‘Share’ button at the top-right of your screen and click on the ‘Share’ tab inside the new popup that appears.
3. Add your friend’s email address
Enter the email addresses of people you want to share the template with, and click the ‘Invite’ button.
4. Determine the level of access and add a message for the recipients
Clicking the ‘Invite’ button will trigger invitation emails to all recipients with a link to access the template.
How to make my Notion template public?
To make a template Notion page public:
- Click on the ‘Share’ button at the top-right of the screen
- Click on the ‘Publish’ tab
- Click on the blue ‘Publish’ button to make the template public
How to use shared Notion templates?
Using Notion templates shared publicly
To use a Notion template that is publicly available, look for the ‘Duplicate as a template’ icon at the top-right of the page.
Click on the icon to duplicate the template page into your workspace. After it’s available in your workspace, you can use it like any other Notion page.
Using Notion templates shared by email
If you received an exclusive email invitation to a Notion template that is not available in public, click the invitation link to access the template page.
You will find the page in the sender’s Notion workspace. To use the template, you will need to duplicate it into your workspace.
To do that, click the three-dot icon that appears when you hover over the page in the left sidebar, click on the ‘Duplicate to’ option, and select the Notion account you want to copy the template into.
